Composite Hose

Hose construction
The hoses are constructed from polypropylene, polyamide or polyester films and fabrics, depending on the application, and an outer cover of pvc coated polyester fabric, which is abrasion, weather and ozon resistant. Alternating internal and external helical wires compress the fabric, films and cover, sealing the hose carcass. For more demanding applications layers and/or tubes of PTFE and FEP* are used in the construction of the hoses.

Internal and External Wires
A choice can be made between galvanized steel, polypropylene coated steel and stainless steel 316 internal wire, depending on the application.

Standard Flextraco hoses have a galvanized external wire but all hoses can be manufactured with a stainless steel external wire.

Temperature
Flextraco composite hoses are suitable for use in operating temperatures from -30°C to +90°C dependant on the conveyent.

Electrical Continuity 
A dual connection between the internal and external wires and the swaged on end fittings guarantees electrical continuity.

Safety 
All Flextraco hose assemblies are pressure tested at 1.5 times their rated working pressure .

Hydrostatic Test certificates are provided with all composite hose assemblies.

All Flextraco hoses are color coded for easy identification.

Standards
Flextraco composite hoses comply with various international standards including BS 5842 - BS 4089 - BS 5842 and US Coast Guard Regulations.
